Guarding the Heart

Proverbs 4:23 tells us to “Keep thy heart with all diligence because out of it come forth the issues of life.” It is important to protect your heart as it determines the quality of your life. The beliefs of your heart are directly related to your success in life. Allowing anything to enter your heart that is contrary to the truth of God’s word hinders you from receiving spiritually from God or causes you to give away what you have already received.

I once taught a young boy to guard his heart. In the past through doctors, everything seemed to continually go wrong. When adults around him voiced fear and unbelief, he kept his healing by saying, “No, I am healed!”

Learning to guard your heart spiritually is the difference between people who succeed in Christ and those who struggle.
